My favorite piece of technology
I'm not a big fan of consuming technology. I mean, I don't care if I don't have the latest cellphone on the market or the fastest computer ever invented, I don't even know brands or kind of specific stuff about it. My devices are all gifts and I got them some years ago, the important thing is that they still being useful.
I guess my favorite piece of technology of all times is my reflex camera. It's a Canon T3i, an old model but it still working for me and I have affection for it. I got it in 2012, it was a gift from my mother, an early birthday gift I guess because I remember I got it on winter and my birthday is on spring.
At the beginning I used my lovely camera almost every day to learn how to use it better and to capture every little moment of the day and the places I visited. I was obsessed to improve my very basic (and poor) skills of photography, I only had a camera of that simple ones of silver colour before and that was so much easier to manipulate. I got a 70-300 mm lens and another world came to my young eyes that very first time I used it.
Now I use my reflex not so often like at the beginning, specially since I started studying Arts (I know, it's almost a ridiculous contradiction), I feel the psychological pressure of thinking about what I'm going to photograph, the light conditions, the frame, the elements and colors of the image I want to capture and all that is so much to handle to take a bunch of photos like before.
I still being bad at it, but I love taking pictures and I don't imagine me using another camera, I know mine pretty well and that gives me more confidence when I'm capturing things I like. By the way, the camera is called "Lupita", it was a general consensus when we named it 'cause the camera was one more person when I hanged out with my friends.
